NGOS and Institutions
NGOs and Institutions are invited to become a regional centre
and start and run the CLEAN-India programme in their town /
city.
They should:
·
be a registered society under the Societies Registration Act
1860,
·
have previous working experience in the field of environment
education, pollution control, development, water/sanitation,
forestry and health,
·
have good working relationship with government agencies,
·
be within easy access of the area of their responsibility,
·
have trained staff with dedication and commitment, and
·
be able to co-ordinate activities of the schools, collate and
compile data and organise environment improvement actions in
their areas of responsibility.

Schools
We invite eligible schools located in our existing CLEAN cities
to become members.
The criteria for selection of schools :
·
Previous history of the school in organising environmental
education activities (only senior secondary schools will be
selected).
·
Commitment and interest shown by the administration and the
teachers.
·
Willingness to participate and take forward the programme as a
social movement.
To initiate CLEAN in your school the requirements are :
·
A minimum of 20 student members from Stds. VIII and IX.
·
Atleast two teachers preferably with a science or geography
background to coordinate the programme
·
Time should be allotted to carry out the activities of CLEAN in
SUPW or extra -curricular activities
·
An annual membership fees (non-refundable) will have to be paid
by each school wishing to join CLEAN.
This membership will offer the following facilities :
·
training on environment monitoring to the CLEAN members
·
taking the CLEAN members on field trips for environment
monitoring
·
access to one Jal-TARA and one Pawan TARA, the water & air
monitoring kits.
·
programmes on environmental awareness will be conducted in the
school
·
the school will have access to the resource material and video
cassettes available at the CLEAN Resource Centre in Development
Alternatives or the co-ordinating NGO
·
guidance and assistance will be given to initiate environmental
improvement projects in the school campus and to also initiate a
community outreach programmes.
