Workshop for Delhi Teachers

For the launch of the new session of the CLEAN-India
programme in Delhi as well as to infuse fresh energy into
it, a workshop was organized for School teachers on the 26th
of April, 2006.
The focus was on re-energizing, capacity
building and on keeping teachers abreast of the progress of
CLEAN-India programme.
The programme was attended by 23 teachers
from 14 schools.
The teachers were given hands on training in
Water and Air quality monitoring. They were also motivated
for carrying out Solid Waste Management by alternative
methods such as using the vermin++ enzyme apart from the
traditional methods, in their schools and communities.
Recognizing teacher’s role as prime
motivators and the important role they play in the
successful functioning of the programme, similar workshops
would be conducted so that teachers feel connected to the
programme and further enthuse the students.
Towards building new synergies with
CLEAN-Delhi schools, we would be taking the following
initiatives:-
The teachers really enjoyed the workshop as
it was a platform for all the CLEAN-Delhi teachers to meet
each other and share experiences about their association
with the programme. The workshop was aimed at the capacity
building of the teachers on water and air quality monitoring
and other activities of the CLEAN-India programme, to enable
them to independently carry out these in their respective
schools which would help in the sustainability of the
programme.
